One of the most common questions we get at Balloon World Miami is: How long will my balloons last? The answer depends on a few key factors—what type of balloons you're using, how they’re filled, and where you’re keeping them.

Here’s what you need to know before your next celebration:

 🎈Helium Balloons

Standard helium balloons typically float for 12–15 hours when kept indoors, in a cool, air-conditioned space, away from direct sunlight. We’ve tested this ourselves with an experiment (yes—we really watched them float!). Under the right conditions, they’ll last beautifully through your event.

Want them to last longer? Ask us to treat your balloons with Hi-Float, a special coating we use inside the balloon. With Hi-Float, your helium balloons can float for up to 5 days—sometimes even longer if stored properly.

IMPORTANT: Helium balloons are sensitive to heat and humidity. If you place them in direct sunlight or a hot, humid environment (like outdoors in Miami!), they’ll deflate much faster—sometimes in just a few hours.

🌬️ Air-Filled Balloons

Unlike helium balloons, air-filled balloons don’t float—but they do last much longer! When kept indoors in A/C, air-filled balloons can last for weeks or even months. This makes them a great option for garlands, arches, and decorative setups that you want to enjoy a little longer.

If placed outdoors, air-filled balloons will begin to oxidize, which gives them a matte, “frosted” look over time. While they may not stay looking fresh for long in the heat, they’ll still stay inflated for several days to weeks depending on the conditions.
